Remedial Design and Remediation
Upon completion of the Phase II assessment and any contaminants have been identified, the risks are assessed by means of risk assessment which will determine whether remediation is deemed necessary. If indeed remediation is required a site specific remediation strategy can be produced involving consultation with the regulatory authorities.
As part of the remedial strategy design it may be necessary to delineate any contamination hot spots and perform further soil sampling, chemical analysis and additional monitoring,
A wide range of remediation techniques are available and the methods chosen are dependent upon a range of factors including contaminant type and distribution, environmental sensitivity of the site, intended end use, cost and timescale etc.
